Residence Card in Wrocław

Pro Document is based in Wrocław. We handle residence card cases: we prepare the documents, file the application through MOS and manage the case at the Lower Silesian Voivodeship Office until you receive the card.

How a residence card is issued in Wrocław

A residence card (karta pobytu) in Wrocław is issued by the Dolnośląski Urząd Wojewódzki we Wrocławiu (the Lower Silesian Voivodeship Office, DUW), the voivodeship office that decides cases of foreigners living in Wrocław and Lower Silesia. It is the immigration office for the region, and foreigners' cases are handled by its Wydział Spraw Obywatelskich i Cudzoziemców (Department of Civil Affairs and Foreigners). Since 27 April 2026, applications for temporary residence, permanent residence and EU long-term resident status are filed electronically through the MOS portal. You visit the office when summoned, to give fingerprints and complete other steps that cannot be done online. Pro Document handles these cases from preparing the documents and the application to receiving the card.

How long a residence card takes in Wrocław

The official processing period for a temporary card is up to 60 days, but in practice cases take longer. These are figures from the Polish Ministry of the Interior (the deputy minister's reply to parliamentary interpellation no. 18089 of 27 July 2026, data as of 6 July 2026): the average time to decide temporary residence cases before the Lower Silesian Voivode, in days.

2023202420252026
401472273303

The average fell from 472 days in 2024 to 303 days in 2026 (by 36%). Among the 16 voivodeships this is the fourth shortest result: cases are decided faster only in Lesser Poland (242 days), Warmia-Masuria (273) and Subcarpathia (302). For comparison, the average in Mazovia is 394 days and in Silesia 658.

These are averages, not a guarantee: the exact time depends on the basis and on how complete your package is. The published reply does not give separate averages for permanent residence and EU long-term resident status in Lower Silesia. File a complete, error-free package, and if deadlines are breached, do not wait in silence: the tools available are described on the page "Acceleration of Decision".
